Antiques/Specialty Shops/Historical Museum
Park the car and walk around Collinsville. Stop to browse among the 70 dealers set up at Antiques on the Farmington in a former Collins Axe Company building. Unique jewelry and contemporary crafts at Carol & Company. Blumen Laden is on the other side of Bridge St. (Rt. 179) and offers gifts, soaps, jewelry as well as silk flower arrangements. The Village Sweet Shoppe is a short walk on River Street with a wonderful selection of chocolates and country primitives. The Canton Historical Museum has an extensive collection of Collins Company tools as well as many items from the Civil War & Victorian Eras.
Canoeing/Kayaking/Walking/Biking/Fishing/Photography
Rent a canoe or kayak from Collinsville Canoe & Kayak, or go fishing on The Farmington River. Take a leisurely walk or energetic run along the Farmington Valley Greenway, a portion of which used to be a railroad line, but is now a scenic walking/biking trail that connects several towns along the river. Your dog will enjoy a walk around Collinsville and meet other furry friends along the way. Bring your camera because there are many photo opportunities to capture around this scenic historic village!
Restaurants
Collinsville offers several choices for a casual, relaxed dining experience. Open daily, LaSalle Market offers breakfast, as well as a choice of pizza slices, salads, sandwiches and blue plate specials for a light lunch or full dinner. The Crown and Hammer Pub & Restaurant, located in the former Collins Co. freight depot, is open Wednesday - Sunday for lunch and dinner. Seating is also available outside on the deck with a gas fireplace. Francesca's Wine Bar & Bistro just opened at 105 Main Street. ABC Pizza is a short walk up to River St., (next door to The Village Sweet Shoppe), offering Greek salads, pizza and grinders. Wilson's Pub is now open at 3 River Street.

There are many lovely hotels and bed and breakfasts in the area to stay. Nearby Avon, Connecticut has the Avon Old Farms Hotel and Residence Inn by Marriott. Simsbury, CT has The Simsbury Inn and The Simsbury 1820 House. Farmington, CT - The Farmington Inn and Farmington Marriott. The Dutch Iris Inn is located in Granby, CT.
